About the Course
Crail Golfing Society is the seventh oldest golf club in the world, founded in 1786. The Balcomie Links course occupies a spectacular position on the East Neuk coast of Fife, with the rocky shoreline of the North Sea forming a natural boundary to several holes. The course is compact but varied — a genuine seaside links that has remained largely unchanged for over two centuries. Crail also has the Craighead Links, a second course across the road, designed by Gil Hanse. Together they make Crail one of Scotland's finest golf destinations. The pretty fishing village of Crail itself is one of the most photographed in Scotland.
