About the Course
Dundonald Links opened in 2003 as a Kyle Phillips design on the classic Gailes linksland of Ayrshire, near the town of Irvine. The course was created specifically to meet the demand for more top-quality links golf in an area already blessed with Western Gailes and Portland as near neighbours. Dundonald plays to par 71 over 7,100 yards from the back tees and has hosted the Scottish Open on the European Tour. The fairways run across classic exposed linksland with views across the Firth of Clyde to Arran and Ailsa Craig. Though not a historic course, Dundonald has established itself as one of the more significant modern links designs in Scotland and provides welcome public access in an area where several courses operate restrictive visitor policies.
