About the Course
Durban Country Club is widely regarded as the finest golf course in Africa. The course plays through spectacular coastal duneland on the Bluff overlooking the Indian Ocean, and has a character that combines the best of links golf with the lush sub-tropical vegetation of KwaZulu-Natal. Laurie Waters and George Waterman designed the original course, later refined by Sid Brews. The South African Open has been held here 13 times. Bobby Locke, four-time Open Champion and considered Africa's greatest golfer, learned the game on these fairways.
