About the Course
Hunstanton Golf Club was founded in 1891 and designed by George Fernie, with subsequent work by James Braid. It occupies a magnificent stretch of linksland on The Wash — the large estuary that separates Norfolk from Lincolnshire — and is an out-and-back layout in the finest links tradition. The course is relatively flat but the fairways are firm and fast, the bunkers are deep and well-placed, and the greens are among the most subtly contoured in England. Hunstanton has hosted the Curtis Cup (1962 and 2000), the English Amateur, and many other major amateur events. It remains one of the most popular golf pilgrimages for visitors to East Anglia.
