About the Course
Pennard Golf Club occupies a breathtaking clifftop site above Three Cliffs Bay on the Gower Peninsula, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Founded in 1896 with James Braid involved in the 1910 redesign, the course features ancient castle ruins, Norman earthworks, and sweeping views over the Bristol Channel. The links plays across firm downland turf with exposed greens that punish anything but the most precise iron play. At 6,266 yards and par 71, Pennard is not long, but the wind off the channel and the undulating terrain ensure it is never easy. The setting — perhaps the most dramatic of any links in Wales — makes Pennard one of those courses that every serious golfer should experience at least once.
