About the Course

Portstewart Golf Club's Strand Course is one of the best-kept secrets in championship links golf. The course opens with seven extraordinary holes through some of the most spectacular duneland in Ireland or Britain — towering sand hills that create dramatic, theatrical golf before the course descends to the Bann Estuary and the Atlantic shoreline. The course was substantially extended and redesigned in 1992, adding new holes to transform what was a par-68 layout into a full championship links. Portstewart hosted the Irish Open in 2017 — the first time the event had visited the course — and the result was one of the most exciting finishes in the tournament's recent history. The Strand Course sits only a few miles from Royal Portrush and Castlerock, making the Causeway Coast one of the finest golf destinations in the world.
