About the Course
Royal St David's Golf Club at Harlech is one of the most dramatic settings in world golf. The course lies between Tremadog Bay and the great dunes of Morfa Harlech, with Harlech Castle — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — looming above and the Snowdonia mountain range providing a stunning backdrop. Founded in 1894 with early involvement from Harold Finch-Hatton, the course plays as a par 69 measuring 6,551 yards, but the mountain winds and the psychological effect of the castle ensure it plays much harder than its card suggests. Royal St David's has hosted the Amateur Championship, the Home Internationals, and other prestigious events. Remarkably, it has never been possible to see the sea from the course, despite its coastal setting.
