About the Course
Royal Troon is one of the great championship links of Scotland, stretching along the Ayrshire coast south of the town of Troon. The course features the famous 'Postage Stamp' — the 8th hole — a tiny par 3 of just 123 yards that has decided many a tournament fate. The back nine at Troon, fighting into the prevailing wind, is among the most gruelling stretches in links golf. Phil Mickelson famously played all four rounds in the 2016 Open on the same bag and finished second. The club has hosted the Open Championship nine times.
