About the Course
It is well worth the time and effort to get to Silloth on Solway Golf Club, and once you arrive, you will not want to leave. The course sits at the edge of the Solway Firth in the far north-west of England, looking across to Scotland on clear days. Founded in 1892 and designed by Willie Park Jr, Silloth is one of the great undiscovered links of the British Isles. The turf is firm and fast, the greens are subtle and quick, and the views across the Solway are breathtaking. The course is especially beloved for producing Cecil Leitch, one of the great amateur golfers of the early 20th century who won the Ladies' British Open Amateur four times. Silloth remains affordable, accessible, and utterly authentic.
