About the Course
The Carnegie Links at Skibo Castle is the most exclusive golf course in the world. The 8,000-acre Skibo Estate was purchased by Andrew Carnegie in 1898 and the original golf course was laid out by Tom Morris and John Sutherland of Royal Dornoch. The Carnegie Club has only around 250 members worldwide, and guests must be invited or accompanied by a member. The course overlooks the Dornoch Firth and Loch Evelix, with rolling fairways, natural burns, and classic Highland scenery. Skibo gained worldwide notoriety in 2000 when Madonna and Guy Ritchie were married at the castle. The golf is exceptional — as pristine and well-maintained as any course in the world — but the experience is about the entire estate.
