About the Course
Real Club de Golf Sotogrande opened in 1964 as the first golf course in the Andalusian region and immediately set the benchmark for Spanish golf. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. along the banks of the Guadiaro River near the Strait of Gibraltar, the course blends parkland and links characteristics in equal measure. Mature cork oaks, umbrella pines and palm trees frame wide fairways, while the river comes into play on several memorable holes. The club has hosted the Spanish Open multiple times and remains the most prestigious address in Spanish golf. With Gibraltar and the Moroccan coast visible on clear days, the setting is as dramatic as the golf.
