About the Course
The Castle Course is the newest of the St Andrews Links Trust's six courses, designed by David McLay Kidd and opened in 2008. Unlike the Old, New, Jubilee and Eden courses which sit on the flat linksland west of the town, the Castle Course is routed over dramatic clifftop terrain north of St Andrews, with sweeping views of the North Sea, the Eden Estuary, and the town's famous skyline. The course measures 6,759 yards and plays to par 72, with exposed positions on the cliff edge creating some of the most spectacular — and wind-affected — holes on any Scottish links. The Castle Course hosted the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship from 2010 and regularly features in lists of the most scenic courses in Britain.
