About the Course
West Lancashire Golf Club was founded in 1873, making it one of the oldest clubs in England. The course at Blundellsands — a short drive from central Liverpool — has been shaped by Old Tom Morris, James Braid, and more recently by Donald Steel into a 6,756-yard par-70 links of real character. The course has long been used for Open Championship qualifying and hosted the Amateur Championship in 1913. The fairways run across low-lying linksland between dune ridges, with the Mersey and the Welsh hills visible on clear days. West Lancashire is part of the celebrated Lancashire links corridor — including Royal Birkdale, Hillside, Formby, and Southport & Ainsdale — that offers some of the finest concentrated links golf in England.
